Privacy policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

Pulse is a Chrome extension that shows how much active time you spend on websites. This policy explains what data Pulse handles and how it is stored.

Summary

Data Pulse processes

Pulse records, locally on your device:

Pulse does not record full URLs, page titles, search queries, form input, or page content. Sites on your never-track list are ignored entirely.

How data is used

Data is used only to show you analytics inside the extension popup and dashboard: totals, trends, comparisons, and optional time-cap reminders. It is not used for anything else.

Where data is stored

Data is stored locally in Chrome's extension storage on your computer (chrome.storage.local). Pulse has no servers and never uploads your data. You can verify this in DevTools: the network log stays empty while Pulse runs.

Permissions

Pulse requests no host permissions and cannot read page content.

Data sharing

Pulse does not sell, rent, or share your browsing analytics with anyone. If you use the export feature, you choose where that JSON file is saved and who sees it.

Data retention and deletion

Data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove a single site's history via the never-track list, or erase everything with Reset all data in Settings. Uninstalling Pulse also removes its locally stored data.

Chrome Web Store limited use

Pulse's use of Chrome user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Browsing activity is used solely to provide on-device time analytics and optional cap reminders to you.

This website

This site is a static page with no analytics scripts, no cookies, and no tracking. It is hosted on Vercel, whose servers may keep standard access logs.

Children

Pulse is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy when Pulse changes. The date at the top will change when we do.
